FAQ

Where does this campground list come from?
USDA Forest Service Recreation Sites and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Oregon recreation-site campground layers — official open GIS published by those agencies, not scraped booking sites.
Can I see if a campsite is available tonight?
No. Per Recreation.gov (the federal reservation service used by the Forest Service and other agencies), live inventory, booking windows, and fees live on the official facility page. Use the agency or Recreation.gov link on each place when present.
Do all Forest Service campgrounds take reservations?
No. The Forest Service notes that many developed sites are reservable on Recreation.gov (often with an advance booking window), while others remain first-come, first-served. Always check the specific campground on the Forest Service page or Recreation.gov.
Why don’t you show fees or open/closed status?
Fees, seasons, fire restrictions, and temporary closures change and are maintained by the land manager. Forest Service guidance is to confirm open status and amenities on the forest website or with the local office before you go.
Are Oregon State Parks campgrounds included here?
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) state-park destinations stay under Parks when they come from OPRD data. Use Search with a camping amenity filter, or open the state park page for camping notes and ReserveAmerica / OPRD booking links.
Is dispersed / roadside camping listed?
This hub focuses on developed recreation-site campgrounds from Forest Service and BLM open data. Dispersed camping rules vary by forest and district — contact the local Forest Service or BLM office for current restrictions.
