Overview
About this park
Rivenes Park is in the center of Hubbard at D Street and 5th Street, west of Pacific Highway 99E, at 2600 D Street. Large fir trees shade the park.
The city bought the site from Southern Pacific Railroad in 1941 for ten dollars.
It was called City Park until August 25, 1996, when it was renamed for John Paul Rivenes, a longtime Hubbard market owner who was killed in a robbery at the market that June.
A stone monument stands in the park.
The park hosts the city's HOP Festival on the third Saturday of July.

Amenities & facilities
The Memorial Springs splash fountain, playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, barbecue grills, picnic tables, benches, covered picnic area, and flagpole were added through community fundraising.
The covered picnic area is first-come, first-served. Restrooms were rebuilt with a 2016 local government grant and finished at the end of 2017.
Background
History & notes
The fountain recycles water from a 3,000-gallon tank. It runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, turning on at 10:00 AM and off at 8:00 PM.
