Overview

About this park

Skirvin Park is one of Philomath's largest parks, second only to Marys River Park, and serves as the primary venue for the annual Philomath Frolic & Rodeo events. A portion of the park is open to the public year-round, while other areas can be reserved for special occasions. The Yew Wood Corral (Beer Garden) is a popular spot for high school graduation parties, weddings, birthday celebrations and a variety of public and private gatherings.

If you'd like to host an event at Skirvin Park, please contact the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo for a park use application. The City of Philomath will be responsible for issuing any Alcohol, Broadcasting or Special Event Permits needed for your event. For more information, visit the Special Events page.

Background

History & notes

When you arrive, be sure to stop by The Horse Plaza to explore the history of Philomath. Discover fascinating facts about Marys Peak, known as the "Queen of the Coast Range", and learn about the Philomath Round-Up before it became today's Philomath Frolic & Rodeo. Meet the Stueve and Skirvin families through the display panels, which also honor Paul and Lola Skirvin, the generous residents who donated the park land.
