About this park
The women's memorial, installed in 2017, is a powerful and emotionally evocative bronze sculpture, The Lionesses.
The three lionesses represent past, present, and future female veterans.
Springfield Women’s Veterans Committee worked with Rip Caswell, a Portland sculptor, to come up with the design of three lionesses.
It’s one of only a handful of monuments nationwide that honors women in the U. S. military.
